Top curly hair drying and styling tips

  • Prep naturally curly or coily hair by first lengthening it using the Paddle Brush. Or consider only touching up any natural curls or frizzy areas that need attention.
  • Apply curly hair products to wet hair before getting started to help define your curls and cut down on frizz.
  • Start with towel-dried, detangled hair for best results.
  • For long-lasting results, use high heat for 10 seconds then press Cool Shot for 10 seconds until hair is completely dry.
  • The brush rotates for easier styling, simply press the 360° button. Use in horizontal mode to brush through lengths and ends, or rotate to vertical mode to easily reach the back of your head.
  • To add volume to your roots or shape a fringe, scoop the brush upwards underneath the roots. Set your style with a shot of cool air.
  • Retract the adjustable diffuser prongs for shorter, finer hair, and to direct less heat onto the scalp, or slide the lever to extend prongs for longer, thicker hair, or to reach and lift roots.
  • Short on time? No problem. Retract the nozzle to quickly and gently dry hair all-over with a wider airpath.
  • If you have time to refine your style, simply slide the lever to extend the nozzle. The narrower airpath is perfect for smoothing, shaping and bending hair – use a round brush as you dry to control your style.

Curly Hairstyle FAQs

I have curly/coily hair. How do I make my curls last longer?
  • Prep your hair for curling by adding lightweight curl creating products such as a curl creating serum, curl mousse, or a texture spray made for your hair type.
  • Make sure your hair is slightly damp (80-90% dry) before curling.
  • Make sure you are using the unit at high heat and high flow.
  • Make sure you keep your hair on the barrel using high heat, high airflow for 10 seconds.
  • Before removing your hair from the barrel, hold Cool Shot for 10 seconds.
  • Repeat high heat/high airflow for 10 seconds and cool shot for 10 seconds until hair is completely dry.
  • Before running fingers through the curl, allow the curl to cool completely.
  • Use a setting or holding spray after you create each curl.
Do you have any tips for thick hair for the auto wrap curlers?

Try holding a smaller section of hair if your hair is having difficulty wrapping around the barrel.

How do I prevent frizz when using the paddle brush?

If you find that you get frizz when using the Paddle Brush, decrease the air flow. If you still get some frizz, finish at the end of styling by brushing down the outside of the hair and pulling hair through the boar bristles. Finish also with Cool Shot to relax the cuticle. Try using hair products made for your hair type that help to reduce frizz before and after styling.
