Battery FAQs
How do I know if my Shark vacuum needs a new battery?
When the battery no longer holds a charge, it should be removed from the vacuum.
How do I dispose of an old vacuum cleaner battery?
Rechargeable vacuum cleaner batteries should be recycled in line with local regulations. In some areas, it is illegal to bin a spent power pack with normal household waste, so be sure to check with your local recycling centre for the latest advice. Under no circumstances should you incinerate or compost the battery.
Do I need to buy a genuine battery replacement or spare?
Please remember that using non-Shark parts invalidates your guarantee.
How long does the battery take to charge?
The length of time it takes to fully charge a battery depends on the model, but it can be anything from 2.5 to approximately 4 hours.
How do you replace the battery on a Shark vacuum?
Shark cordless vacuum cleaner batteries are removable so you can charge them wherever suits you. Remove your battery in the same way that you would to charge it, and insert the new battery as usual. Check your Instruction Booklet for more information.
Can you leave a Shark battery on charge?
Our Dual Charging Docks allow you to charge two batteries at once, so you can keep one on charge while the other is in use. Please note, you should charge your new battery completely before first use.
