Knives FAQs

How do you sharpen Ninja knives?

The StaySharp Knife Block conveniently features an integrated knife sharpener to maintain incredible blade sharpness at home. Simply slide the lever to the bottom of the knife block, then insert a clean Ninja knife into the designated sharpening slot. Hold the knife in place and slide the lever all the way up and down 10 times. Rinse and dry the knife thoroughly before using.

What are the different knives used for?
  • 8” Chef Knife – Chopping, slicing, mincing and dicing meat, vegetables, nuts, herbs and more
  • 8” Slicing Knife – Precisely cutting thinner slices, larger vegetables such as cauliflowers, larger fruits such as melons, and carving hot and cold roasted meats
  • 8” Bread Knife – Slicing crusty loaves, fresh sourdough, and other bread – also great for cutting through tomatoes and citrus fruits (Do not use the sharpener on knives with serrated edges.)
  • 5” Utility Knife – Thinner slicing and filleting, preparing fish, butterflying chicken breasts, trimming vegetables, and finely chopping fruit
  • 3.5” Paring Knife – Intricate tasks such as trimming fat, chopping small vegetables and fruit
  • Scissors – Snipping herbs, opening packaging and a wide variety of kitchen tasks (Do not use the sharpener on scissors.)
How do you dispose of old kitchen knives?

Treating yourself to a set of Ninja knives? It’s important to dispose of old kitchen knives carefully to avoid injury to yourself or anyone else who may come into contact with them. Check whether your local recycling centre can take them. If they are in good condition, you could donate or sell them. If you are disposing of them, wrap the blade heavily with cardboard, bubble wrap or paper (pop a cork on the knife tip if possible) then use tape to secure the wrapping. Place the knife into a sturdy container and label as SHARP. You can now place the container into your household waste bin.

How do you store knives in a drawer?

Knives must be stored in a safe place, protecting the cutting edge and preventing injury. The Ninja knife block is recommended for easy-to-access storage on the worktop, and for keeping you and your knives safe.
