To clean a carpet using an upright vacuum-style machine, clear the floor and run a dry vacuum cleaner first. Fill the water tank with warm water and formula, recline the handle to start deep clean mode, and make slow, overlapping forward and backwards passes across the floor.

Never skip dry vacuuming first. Upright washers are fluid extractors, not dry vacuums. If you leave loose hair, grit, and surface dust in the carpet pile, the machine mixes them into a thick sludge. This sludge clogs the internal suction nozzle.

   Switch to the built-in hose for stairs, upholstery, or tight corners. For standard spots, click on the 3.5-inch Stain Eliminator tool. Press the hand tool trigger to spray the area, scrub gently with the bristles, tilt the nozzle forward for firm contact, and drag it backwards.

5. Maintenance Clean-Down:
   Unclick the dirty water tank and keep it upright. Tilt the handle completely back to unlock and remove the lid. Pull the hair filter tab straight up to dump out trapped fur, then pour the dirty water down the drain and rinse.
   To flush the internal hose mechanism, slot your hand tool into the “Rinse and Go” groove located on top of the clean tank. Hold down the blue button. The machine automatically sanitises the interior line. Finally, remove the clear front nozzle cover from the floor head to wipe away wrapped hair from the brushroll. Do not use white vinegar or unapproved detergents in the tanks; they destroy internal seals.

   Unplug the unit, remove the dust cup, and lift out the rubbish bag or dump the loose liquid into the drain. The dust cup is dishwasher safe. Pull the main lid off its hinges at a 180-degree angle to rinse it, and turn the internal debris screen counterclockwise to remove it. Wash the foam, felt, and post-motor filters monthly with cold water only. Let them air-dry for 24 hours before reinserting.
