Ingredients
- 4 eggs, separate whites and yolks
- 2.45oz caster sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3.5oz milk
- 8.75oz quark
- 5.25oz plain flour
- 0.35oz butter
- icing sugar for dusting
Instructions
Step 1
Beat egg whites to stiff peaks and then set aside.
Step 2
Insert cooking pot in the unit and close lid. Do not insert the grill plate. Select GRILL, set the temperature to HIGH and time to 8 minutes. Press START/STOP to begin preheating.
Step 3
In a medium bowl, combine well together egg yolks, sugar, salt, milk and quark.
Step 4
Mix in the flour, and then gently fold in the egg whites.
Step 5
When the unit beeps to signify it has preheated, open the lid and add the butter to the pot – it should sizzle and melt quickly. Then pour in all the batter evenly. Close the lid and cook for 8 minutes.
Step 6
When cooking is complete, check that the cake has sufficiently risen and browned. Use a silicone spatula or other non-stick safe utensil to chop it into bite sized pieces.
Step 7
Transfer the quarkschmarrn onto serving dishes and dust with icing sugar. Serve warm with apple sauce or vanilla custard and enjoy!
